The corpse of Samuel Kayode was discovered in a pool of blood inside the rally hall
Vice Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, Samuel Kayode, has been shot and killed.
Mr Samuel was assaulted by unidentified thugs while attending an APC rally in Lagos State’s Agboju neighborhood.
Residents and audiences at the demonstration hurriedly evacuated the hall after hearing a gunshot, according to sources.
The corpse was eventually discovered in a pool of blood inside the rally hall.
The incident was confirmed by Jimoh Buhari, the spokeswoman for Lagos State NURTW chairman Musilu Akisanya ‘MC Oluomo.’
“He was protecting a fellow politician, Wale Yusuf, from harassment when the gunmen shot him dead,” he said.
The Lagos state police command is yet to issue a press statement on the matter.
